His medical journey began at the University of Aberdeen, renowned for its rigorous medical program, setting the stage for his distinguished career. Dr. Thomson further specialized in emergency medicine through Higher Specialist Training in Scotland’s North-East, leading to his role as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine since 2009.

A respected Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Dr. Thomson’s contributions extend beyond clinical practice. As a former Vice-President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, he has played a pivotal role in shaping clinical management and national policies in emergency medicine, demonstrating extensive expertise and leadership in the field.
