Surgical Procedure
Burn Treatment
Acute burn injuries require urgent assessment and the correct treatment first time to maximise the chances of a full recovery.
This Burn Treatment often depends on the depth and location of the burn, but most often just requires specialized burns dressings.
In some instances of full thickness burns, they will require surgical excision and skin grafting.
Apart from Dr Rory providing initial assessment and treatment required in terms of support, dressings and skin grafting if needed, he will guide you through your recovery with regular appointments to monitor the healing of your burn.
If these injuries are deep or there are complications such as infection, later complications of burns may require reconstruction.
This reconstruction is aimed at releasing the tight scar contractures that can occur. In some cases this requires skin grafting and in extreme cases, free flap surgery may be required.
The final cost of any burns management is determined on a case by case basis dependent on complexity and the combination of any other additional procedures.
Combination surgeries will lower the price of individual surgeries if done together.
A full surgical no-commitment consultation with Dr Rory will provide all the necessary details for your particular case.
